These Terms govern your participation in the closed alpha test of the Any application and the network services that Any Association provides for it (together, “Any”, the “Alpha”, or the “Services”). Your agreement is with Any Association, c/o Sielva Management AG, Gubelstraße 11, 6300 Zug, Switzerland (“we”, “us”, or “our”).

Any is experimental software. It may fail, make unintended changes, or lose, corrupt, overwrite, or make your data inaccessible. We do not guarantee data preservation or recovery. Keep independent backups outside Any and do not use the Alpha as the only copy of important information. See Sections 9 and 11 for the Alpha’s limitations and the limits of our responsibility.

By accepting these Terms during onboarding, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Services. Our Privacy Policy explains how personal data is handled. Accepting these Terms does not, by itself, enable AI or grant an agent access to your content.

1. Who can join the Alpha

Participation is by invitation. An invitation gives access to the current test; it does not promise continued participation, a public release, or availability of particular features in a future version.

You must be at least 18 years old to participate in the closed alpha and have the legal capacity to enter these Terms. You must also meet the eligibility requirements of any AI provider you choose to use.

If you use Any on behalf of an organization, you must have authority to accept these Terms for that organization. You must have the rights and permissions needed for the content you use, share, or ask an agent to process.

The Alpha is available only where we can lawfully provide it and you can lawfully use it. Applicable sanctions, export restrictions, and local requirements may limit access. Each AI provider also has its own eligibility and geographic restrictions. You may use an AI integration only if you meet those requirements; a provider’s availability does not guarantee that Any or another provider is available in the same location.

2. Your account and recovery key

Any is a local-first application for creating, organizing, and sharing content. Your account is identified on the network through a public cryptographic key. Your private recovery key is generated on your device and is not stored on our servers.

Keep your recovery key secure and retain a safe copy. We cannot recover it or restore access if you lose both your key and other means of accessing your account. You are responsible for protecting your devices and the credentials you use with Any.

3. Your content, storage, and sharing

You retain your rights in the content you bring to or create in Any. These Terms do not transfer ownership of your content to us. You permit us to store, transmit, and otherwise handle it only as needed to provide the features you use and carry out your instructions, subject to the Privacy Policy and Any’s encryption design.

Content is organized into private or shared spaces. In the default network mode, content is encrypted on your device before it is synchronized to our network. We do not hold the keys needed to decrypt that stored content. Members of a shared space can access content according to the space’s permissions.

You can also use local-only mode or a self-hosted network. Content created after switching to those modes is not synchronized to our network.

Some data on your device may be stored without application-level encryption for indexing and performance. Protect your device and use disk encryption where appropriate.

Sharing content allows recipients to view, copy, or otherwise use it within the permissions and features available to them. Removing access may not remove copies a recipient already made. Give agents access to shared content only when you are entitled to have that content processed for your task.

The encrypted storage and synchronization described here are distinct from optional AI processing, explained below.

4. Optional AI and your own API key

You can use Any without AI. AI features are optional and currently require you to supply your own API key for a supported provider. Any does not currently supply a model account or model usage credits.

Your API key is stored on your device. AI requests go directly from your device to the provider you select. Any’s servers do not receive your AI prompts or responses through the AI feature. Requests contain your instructions and the content from within Any used for the task, within the access you grant.

The provider must process the information included in a request to generate a response. Content supplied for that processing is not protected from that provider by Any’s end-to-end encryption for storage and synchronization. The provider’s agreement with you, its privacy terms, and your account settings govern its handling of that information, including retention and any use for training. We do not promise that every provider offers the same protections.

You are responsible for any provider charges incurred under your provider agreement. Provider availability, usage limits, and model behavior may affect AI features in Any.

The currently supported integrations are OpenRouter, Anthropic, Google, and OpenAI. OpenRouter routes requests onward to a model provider, so both OpenRouter and the downstream provider may process the content you send. Available models, routing, and data practices depend on the provider, model, and account settings. The Privacy Policy links to provider information.

5. What agents may do

Agents may read only content inside Any that you permit them to access. They cannot read data from outside the app. Agents can also perform actions available to a human user, including creating, editing, or deleting content.

Your authorization is limited by your instructions, the permissions you grant, and your own access rights. Authorizing an agent does not give it rights that you do not have.

Agents may ask for confirmation in chat before acting, but they do not ask before every action. Within an authorized task, an agent may act without a further confirmation. Do not assume that a separate confirmation will appear before a change, deletion, or other action in the app. A request for confirmation in one instance is not a promise that the same or a similar action will always require confirmation.

Grant access and instructions with this behavior in mind. Agent actions may alter or delete content, affect shared spaces, or communicate within the app, to the extent those actions are available to you. Some actions may be irreversible, and the Alpha does not guarantee an undo or recovery mechanism. This description does not authorize actions outside the task or access rights you have granted.

AI can misunderstand instructions, produce inaccurate information, or make unintended changes. Review its work before relying on it, especially before sharing content or making consequential decisions. This is not a transfer to you of responsibilities that applicable law places on us.

AI output may be similar to output received by other people. As between you and Any Association, we do not claim ownership of your prompts or generated output. This does not guarantee that output qualifies for copyright protection or is free of third-party rights.

6. Permitted use and software licenses

You may use the Services in accordance with these Terms and the license accompanying the software. Separate open-source or source-available licenses continue to govern the software components to which they apply. These Terms do not take away rights granted by those licenses.

Any Association and its licensors retain rights in the application, service infrastructure, branding, and other materials they provide. You must retain applicable copyright and license notices.

Do not use the Services to violate the law or others’ rights; exploit or harm children; gain unauthorized access to accounts or content; distribute malicious software; send spam; or deliberately disrupt the Services or other users’ access. These rules also apply to actions you ask an agent to perform. They do not prohibit legitimate security research that is authorized by us or permitted by law.

We cannot decrypt content stored on our network. We may assess abuse reports and other information available to us when enforcing these rules.

7. Alpha access and provider charges

There are no paid Any plans or subscription charges for the current closed alpha. Accepting these Terms does not enroll you in an auto-renewing subscription. Anytype’s paid membership billing and refund terms are not incorporated into this Alpha agreement.

If we later offer paid access, we will explain the price, billing period, renewal terms, cancellation method, and refund policy before you choose to purchase. Participation in this Alpha does not authorize future charges.

Your chosen AI provider may charge for requests made using your API key, including requests generated while an agent carries out a task. Those charges and any provider refunds are governed by your agreement with that provider. Stopping use of Any or deleting your Any account does not cancel a separate provider account or subscription.

8. Other services and feedback

Links to third-party sites and the AI providers you connect are subject to the relevant third party’s terms. We are responsible for our own Services; a third party is responsible for the service it provides. Nothing here excludes our own legal obligations in connection with an integration.

If you voluntarily give us product feedback, you allow us to use it to improve Any without payment to you. This permission does not transfer ownership of your private content or authorize us to use private content for model training.

9. Experimental software, data loss, and changes

The Alpha is an unfinished test version. It may contain serious defects, security vulnerabilities, incomplete features, and compatibility problems. Content and settings may be lost, corrupted, overwritten, unintentionally disclosed, or become inaccessible, including through errors, agent actions, failed synchronization, updates, migrations, or test resets.

We do not guarantee continuous availability, successful synchronization, compatibility with future versions, preservation of content or settings, successful exports or backups, or recovery of lost data. Synchronization can propagate unintended changes or deletions; it is not a substitute for an independent backup. Keep separate copies outside Any and check that you can restore them. Do not rely on the Alpha for essential operations or for storing the sole copy of important information.

We may change or remove features, limit participation, reset test environments, or suspend or end the Alpha for development, operational, security, or legal reasons. We will give reasonable advance notice of a planned material change or shutdown where practicable. Unexpected failures and urgent changes may occur without advance notice. No particular test duration, service level, support response time, bug fix, migration path, or future release is promised.

These limitations describe the risks of testing the Alpha. They do not release us from security, data-protection, or other obligations that applicable law requires us to meet.

10. Ending use and account deletion

You can stop using Any and request account deletion through the app. Retain independent copies of content you need before requesting deletion. As explained in Section 9, an export or recovery may not work after a failure.

In addition to changes to the test described in Section 9, we may restrict access to the network services we operate where reasonably necessary to address a material breach of these Terms, misuse, security risks, or a legal obligation. Where practicable, we will explain the reason and allow an opportunity to resolve it. Urgent cases may require immediate action.

Ending access to our network does not, by itself, remove files already stored on your devices or cancel rights you hold under a separate software license. The Privacy Policy explains deletion and retention. Deleting data in Any does not automatically delete information already processed by your chosen AI provider or copies held by other people.

11. Responsibility and liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Alpha is provided “as is” and “as available”, without express or implied warranties, including warranties of fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, satisfactory quality, and non-infringement. We do not warrant reliability, accuracy, uninterrupted operation, data preservation, or recovery.

Subject to the exclusions from this limitation below, and only to the extent permitted by applicable law, Any Association is not liable for loss, corruption, overwriting, or inaccessibility of data arising from use of the Alpha, costs of restoring or recreating that data, business interruption, lost profits or revenue, or indirect or consequential losses. This includes such losses resulting from the Alpha’s experimental operation or agent actions. The description of those risks does not itself eliminate liability that the law imposes on us.

You are responsible for your own unlawful use of the Services, instructions to agents, and misuse of credentials. AI output may be inaccurate or unsuitable for a particular use. We are not responsible for failures attributable solely to an independent AI provider; our own mandatory obligations remain unaffected.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury where such liability cannot lawfully be limited, or any other liability that applicable law does not allow us to exclude or limit. Your mandatory consumer rights, including remedies for defective digital services, remain unaffected.

12. Updates to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to Any, legal requirements, or our operations. We will publish the new text and its effective date and give appropriate notice of material changes. Where fresh acceptance is required, we will request it. Changes will not apply retroactively to a dispute that arose before they took effect. An update to these Terms does not silently expand an agent’s technical permissions.

13. Governing law and disputes

Swiss law governs these Terms. If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of mandatory protections applicable in your country of habitual residence.

Courts in the Canton of Zug, Switzerland, have jurisdiction except where mandatory law gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere or requires us to bring proceedings in another court. Nothing in these Terms requires a consumer to waive such rights.

Your use of the Services must comply with export-control and sanctions restrictions that legally apply to you and to the Services.

If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent legally possible. Failure to enforce a provision on one occasion does not waive it for the future.

If you download Any from an app store, the applicable store terms also apply to that download and purchase. These Terms are between you and Any Association, not the store operator.

15. Notice for Apple users

If you obtain Any through the Apple App Store, your license permits use on Apple-branded products you own or control, subject to Apple’s usage rules, including applicable Family Sharing or volume-purchasing rights.

This Section only applies to the extent you are using our mobile application on an iOS device. To the extent the other terms and conditions of these Terms are less restrictive than, or otherwise conflict with, the terms and conditions of this Section, the more restrictive or conflicting terms and conditions in this Section apply, but solely with respect to the App from the Apple App Store. You acknowledge and agree that these Terms are solely between you and Any Association, not Apple, and that Apple has no responsibility for the App or content thereof. Your use of the App must comply with the App Store’s applicable terms of use. You acknowledge that Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to the App. In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any, for the App to you. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the App, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty will be solely governed by these Terms. You and Any Association acknowledge that Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims of yours or any third party relating to the App or your possession and/or use of the App, including, but not limited to: (a) product liability claims, (b) any claim that the App fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement, and (c) claims arising under consumer protection or similar legislation. You and Any Association acknowledge that, in the event of any third party claim that the App or your possession and use of the App infringes that third party’s intellectual property rights, Any Association, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement and discharge of any such intellectual property infringement claim to the extent required by these Terms. You must comply with applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the App. You and Any Association acknowledge and agree that Apple, and Apple’s subsidiaries, are third party beneficiaries of these Terms as they relate to your use of the App, and that, upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third party beneficiary thereof. You hereby represent and warrant that: (i) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a “terrorist supporting” country; and (ii) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
